San Diego is a city of the U.S.A under the state of California. According to my research, I have known that California is the 2nd most popular state for skateboarding. As a result, San Diego’s people love to skateboard on streets, skate parks, sidewalks, etc.

1: Linda Vista Skate Park

Are you looking for a large skate park with huge and various spaces for tricks and different heights of bowls? Then you can choose Linda Vista, Skate Park. The skate park was inaugurated on 17th January 2018. You will also find enough streets there. If you are a street skateboard lover you can practice here. There is a cool bridge that helps to overlook either side of the skate park.

To skateboard, the authority requires no protective gear like helmets, wrist guards, etc. I have noticed some problems there. There should be separate places for kids and parents. People face some problems when it is too crowded. Tony Hawk visited the park and found it is a rider-friendly skate park. There are restrooms as well that help to reduce tiredness.

If you are looking for a skate park and bike park then this one’s for you. Most skateboarders love its mega ramp. If you can overcome the fear, you will be a fan of it. I have seen many professionals in this skate park. It is also a great place for kids as the parents can watch out for their children easily from the above.

And one thing I love is “no smoking” restrictions that help to create a healthy environment. I found the staffs are very helpful. If I talk about its downside I have to talk about bathrooms. It should be improved. And the other thing is a charge of the park. But these are not a big deal. In a word, it is an awesome place for skateboard lovers. How do you feel when you skateboard beside the beach? I think it is pretty cool to skateboarders. You can get this fun from Robb Field Skate Park. It is located in Ocean Beach Athletic Area Robb Field. It is a great place for a group of skateboarders. A group of friends can use the bowls at a time. 3 to 4 people can use the bowls at the same time.

There is no big ramp but the place is pretty cool. The park is very helpful for beginners and kids who are trying to learn to skateboard. But it is not suitable for street skaters because there are not many places for them. One thing I like is a free park. So there are no restrictions for helmets, knee pads, etc. Overall it is a good place for beginner skateboarders.

4: Memorial Skate Park

I love this skate park because it is suitable for each level of skaters. I especially love their keyhole bowl. This bowl gave me an interesting skateboarding experience. It is also a super palace to shred as there are enough hips and pockets. People also love the snake run that goes from 3 feet transition to 8 feet vert.

If you are a street flat-ground skater, there is enough room for you. I have noticed some problems there. The skate park is a little bit dirty. Some people complain about its concrete. The authority makes a delay to turn on the lights when the park becomes dark. But the skate park cost nothing for most of its features. So it is a great opportunity to learn skateboarding there.

5: Rancho Penasquitos Skatepark

Are you a ramp lover? I am asking this because Rancho Penasquitos is a paradise for ramp lovers. This 22000 square feet skate park is one of the top skate parks in San Diego. Facility Benefits Assessment fees, grants, and the special needs fund are used to build this skate park.

You will find almost everything that a skate park should have. You will see, street-style place, multi-height grind, 12-foot grind, small kicker ramps, etc. in the middle. In the southeast corner, I have medium-sized transition ramps. I love their shade structures that are built to save skateboarders from the hot sun. There are many other features that can’t be described in this short article.

6: Park de la Cruz

Park de la Cruz is San Diego’s first competition skate park. This is one of the best skate parks in the City. This skate park features all the modern facilities that the park should have. It has transition ramps, a mid-city ramp, beginner gap flow bowl, street palace, etc. It is not only a great place for skaters, but also for scooter & BMX riders.

You will notice different ages of people, practicing with their skateboard. I think this is one of the inspiring scenery for skateboarders. This 19300 square foot park is neat and clean. I have seen no homeless people there. I hope you will love most of its features.

There are some rules that should be followed by skateboarders. These are-

• Kids under 12 years old should visit with a proper guardian.
• Smoking, drinking alcohol, etc. are prohibited there.
• You can’t get inside of the park with your pet.
• The authority requires you to keep safety gear like helmets, knee pads, etc.

7: Washington Street Skate Park

Address: Washington Street, Pacific Hwy US 101, San Diego, CA 92101, United States.

It is the oldest skatepark in San Diego. There were no skate parks in San Diego when it was built in 1999. The main target was to create a free palace for skateboarders. The park is only built for skateboarders. No roller skate, rollerblade, or bike is allowed there. This especially is found on their ramps. These ramps are built by skaters.

And the bowl is super skateboarding. I have seen that skate park features are made for advanced skaters. If you are a beginner, you will get few opportunities to ride there. If you are an intermediate skateboarder, it is like heaven for you. The skate park is free for everyone but they collect donations. So I recommend donating if possible.
